Can lab dishes be dried in a drying oven?

In school and some hospital laboratories, drying ovens are often used to dry Petri dishes. Petri dishes are made of a flat, plate-like bottom and a lid, usually made of glass or plastic. Media materials are basically divided into two categories, mainly plastic and glass. If it is a plastic product, the highest acceptable temperature should be paid attention to. The drying oven temperature should be controlled according to the quality of the petri dish and the heat-resistant temperature.

In the dry hot state, because of its poor heat resistance, microbial heat resistance is strong, needs to be heated for a long time, in order to achieve the purpose of sterilization. Therefore, dry hot air sterilization is usually at a higher temperature than wet hot air sterilization. In order to ensure the sterilization effect, the general requirements: 3-5h,135-140℃, 160-170℃, 2-4h,180-200℃, 0.5-1h.

The temperature of the drying oven should be set according to the regulations. Do not open the drying oven directly after the machine has finished its work. To open the door again, you need to lower the temperature.
