Problems with the Clean Bench for Cell Culture

Cell culture involves aseptic techniques, which are stringent in terms of working environment and conditions, and require avoidance of microorganisms and other harmful factors. This is the main difference between cell culture and other general laboratory procedures.

Experiments are sterilized by irradiating the clean bench with a UV lamp for 30 minutes, wiping the sterile lifting surface with 70% ethanol, and running the clean bench fan for a few minutes before starting the experiments. Only one cell line was processed per operation to avoid confusion or intercellular contamination. After the experiments are completed, remove the experimental material from the bench and wipe the sterile working surface with 70 % ethanol.

The aseptic working area should be clean and spacious, and necessary items such as holders, pipettes, and other common items can be stored temporarily. Lab supplies should be wiped with 70% ethanol before being brought into the sterile workstation. Experiments should be performed in the central sterile area and generally not in the peripheral areas.

The clean bench is one of the necessary equipment for aseptic operation.
